OUR HISTORY

St. David’s Episcopal Church was established in response to the rapid growth of Terrell Hills, following a 1951 recommendation by the Diocese of West Texas to form a new parish in the area. A two-acre site at Wiltshire, Crestwood, and Canterbury Hill was secured later that year, and the Rev. Robert Ernest Megee, Jr. was appointed by Bishop Everett H. Jones as founding rector. Under his leadership, the new mission took shape, and the first worship services were held in the Megee family home on November 30, 1952, the First Sunday of Advent. Nearly one hundred people gathered for that initial service, marking the beginning of a faith community rooted in worship, fellowship, and service that continues to this day.
