SERVE ST. DAVID'S
Every member of St. David’s has a place to serve. Whether you are drawn to worship, hospitality, music, or behind-the-scenes care, there are many meaningful ways to share your gifts and be part of the life of this parish. Serving is not only a way to help, it’s one of the best ways to connect, build relationships, and grow in faith.
Acolytes
Students in 4th–12th grade are invited to serve as acolytes, assisting the clergy during worship as crucifers, torchbearers, and more. This is a meaningful way for young people to take an active role in our liturgy.
Altar Guild
The Altar Guild cares for the sacred space of worship, including the altar, vestments, vessels, and linens. Members prepare the sanctuary before services and thoughtfully restore it afterward, supporting the beauty and reverence of our liturgy.
AUDIO/VISUAL
The AV team plays a vital role in supporting worship each Sunday. They manage the live stream so those joining remotely can fully participate, and ensure microphones and sound systems are working smoothly throughout the service. They help create a seamless and welcoming worship experience for everyone, both in person and online.
Breakfast Teams
Help create a warm and welcoming Sunday morning! Breakfast teams cook, set up, and serve food and coffee before Sunday School. Setup begins around 8:00 a.m., with cleanup following the Sunday School hour or the 10:30 service.
Choir
Glorify God through music. St. David’s offers choir opportunities for children, youth, and adults, with a variety of ways to participate in leading worship through song.
Flower Guild
The Flower Guild enhances worship through the beauty of flowers. Members purchase and arrange altar flowers and often share them afterward with those who are homebound or unable to attend services.
Lay Readers
Lay Readers read scripture and prayers during worship services as well as assist clergy with serving Eucharist. Readers serve on a rotating basis and receive training and guidance.
Ushers
Ushers offer the first welcome each Sunday: opening doors, greeting parishioners and visitors, distributing bulletins, assisting with seating, and guiding the flow of Communion. Their hospitality helps set the tone for worship.
Vestry
The Vestry is the lay leadership body of the church, serving as a “board of directors” for the parish. Twelve members serve staggered three-year terms, with new members elected each January. Vestry members help guide the mission, stewardship, and future of St. David’s.
